Camaro owners no doubt already know that registration starts this evening for Camaro Superfest 2018. For future reference, organizers run a very active and thorough Facebook Page for those who like to plan ahead. [1,2]

For those simply planning to attend the car show itself, that runs 8:00am to 4:00pm both Saturday (June 30) and Sunday (July 1) at Riverside Park in Ypsilanti. Last year, 650 Camaros were shown and the “Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition” will be highlighted as special theme for 2018. [3,4,5,6]

Announced last October, these vehicles feature distinctive orange coloring and badges, along with a limited production anticipated to top out at 3,000 cars this August. Previously, Chevrolet released a blue special edition, in 2013. [7,8,9]

Camaro Superfest organizers are clearly well connected. Off-site offerings tomorrow begin before sun-up on June 29 and include tours of both the COPO Build and GM Heritage Centers. The latter, widely acknowledged as “one of the greatest vintage car collections in the world,” is not open to the public; access is granted by appointment only. [10,11,12,13]

This Ypsilanti event is also well known for its commitment to local charities. This year, their goal is to raise $15,000 in support of Stiggy’s Dogs, a Pinckney-based veterans charity. Stiggy’s Dogs works to take canines from rescues, shelters, animal control agencies, and humane societies to place with veterans in need due to issues such as PTSD.

Forecasts say it’s going to be hot this weekend — but Riverside Park typically takes the end off that with great tree cover, just off the water. Numerous options for refreshments are always available throughout the event as well. Also note that admission for visitors is free.

Riverside Park in Ypsilanti is located 11 miles northeast of Saline. See links below for 2018 and future Camaro Superfest show dates.
