From the Editor—

With sixty articles already available here on Saline Journal as of our “formal” launch today, I doubt anyone will feel compelled to read this editorial unsure of my answer.

Still, it’s a relevant question to ask; it may even be a question you would like to ask. Fair enough.

Let’s start with the three most recent features at the top of Saline Journal today. On the cusp of what’s always another great golf season in Michigan, we put readers ahead of the game with an exclusive look inside our local X Golf Ann Arbor: Technology and philosophy. [1]

Next up was our analysis of an established thirty-year community asset — Saline Craft Shows — examined from the perspective of professional performance. What’s in it for you as a city stakeholder, even if you’re not a crafter or buyer? This article lays that out for our readers. [2]

Then last Friday, Saline Journal continued to unpack key issues central to the autonomous vehicle industry. Many in this community know that shuttle manufacturer NAVYA has a facility here in the City of Saline; it’s good to have cutting-edge industries here. But fewer readers, I suspect, might have imagined what such technology can mean to solving issues such as downtown parking. Now they can. [3,4,5,6]

We approach local coverage from a perspective you won’t find elsewhere. We frequently connect our stories to broader contexts for better understanding. And, as you already see in the examples above, Saline Journal has content no other news outlet has.

Not bad for a first day out, don’t you think?

That’s my answer to the question posed by the headline above — with a taste of the substance that backs it. Far more important, however, is what you think. So I encourage you to Subscribe, read our content over the course of a few months, and then decide for yourself.
