Detroit Autorama has been officially cancelled for 2021.

Organizer Championship Auto Shows website for the event now reads, “We’re sorry but this show has been cancelled this year. Stay healthy and see you in 2022!”

About an hour ago, Detroit Free Press published an item by Slone Terranella titled “Detroit’s Autorama 2021 canceled due to COVID-19 surge in Michigan.”

This news came twelve days after a Tweet from Autorama / World of Wheels / Cavalcade of Customs (@HotRodShows, based in Auburn Hills) that read in part “We’ve been working with the health department, city as well as facility officials & are thrilled Autorama is slated to open doors April 30-May 2.”

Approximately four hours ago today, they Tweeted: “Due to rising Covid caseloads/hospitalizations in the State of Michigan, the 2021 Detroit Autorama is cancelled.

We appreciate the patience on part of all exhibitors as we’ve worked closely with health, city and facility officials in an effort to produce this year’s event.

The process of returning funds will begin in two weeks.

We look forward to seeing you in 2022. Stay Healthy!
