Don’t let the name fool you. When local radio station WAAM first partnered with The Salvation Army to launch this opportunity for holiday giving, setting a goal of collecting 1600 toys for holiday distribution was cleverly memorable. Their programs can be heard at 1600 on the AM band. [1.2]

But the need is far greater than that. And it recognizes that need, especially at this time of year, is more that just provisioning for food and the necessities of life. Saline needs no convincing of that, so here’s how to help.

Donations must be new and unwrapped, and may include games, CDs, DVDs, sports equipment, jewelry, and even makeup. Think broad definition of “toys,” and a wide range of ages and interests for “girls and boys.” With items in hand, they may be dropped off at any of a variety of participating sponsor locations, listed below.

For more information, see program description on the bottom of AM 1600 WAAM home page.
