This 2018 National Theatre Live performance will be re-broadcast for a single engagement at Emagine Theatre in Saline. [1,2,3,4]

  • May 17 (Thursday), with show starting at 7:00pm

Plot summary on NT Live: “The ruined aftermath of a bloody civil war. Ruthlessly fighting to survive, the Macbeths are propelled towards the crown by forces of elemental darkness. [It is] Shakespeare’s most intense and terrifying tragedy ….”

Over the centuries that have passed since first first performed at the Globe Theatre, the plays of William Shakespeare have been both performed countless times and become quite accessible. One of the best primers for those who have no familiarity at all with this subject is “Macbeth With Ethan Hawke,” part of the BBC Shakespeare Uncovered series (available on iTunes). [5]

National Theatre Live also produced a trailer and a number of valuable pre-production videos, all immediately available and free on YouTube. [6,7]

As always, before finalizing plans, check the Emagine Entertainent website to verify show dates and times.
