Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) has just announced that it will close to visitors effective immediately, “until Friday, April 2.
With rising COVID cases and the spread of variants throughout the state, the Detroit Institute of Arts will temporarily close to visitors from Saturday, March 27 until Friday, April 2, 2021.
Visitors with existing reservations will be contacted by the museum to reschedule their visit.
According to its most recent financial disclosure for the year 2020, over fifty-six percent of monetary support for the DIA is derived from the “Art Institute Authorities” established by the counties of Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne Michigan, through a millage rate of twenty cents per $1000 of taxable value on real and personal property within these jurisdictions.
