Leading news source issued correction on its report of COVID-19 hospitalization numbers.
In a Washington Examiner article titled “New York Times estimate of child COVID-19 hospitalizations was only off by 1,328%” published yesterday, Becket Adams characterized the error as only one among “multiple falsehoods in a single article.”
Reference New York Times piece by “its lead coronavirus correspondent, Apoorva Mandavilli,” who “misstated the number of Covid hospitalizations in US children. It is more than 63,000 from August 2020 to October 2021, not 900,000 since the beginning of the pandemic.”
Mr Becket opened his own report on this by opining, “Maybe it was a bad idea for the New York Times to fire its top science reporter of 45 years over complaints from privileged, snot-nosed teenagers.”
