First showing of No Time to Die is scheduled for 4:00pm today at Emagine Theatre in Saline on its EMAX screen. Stretching the defition of “release date” here, James Bond will return to cinemas throughout the United States this evening, at all Emagine Entertainment locations, and eight options for viewing tonight (for of which in standard format). “I really think it’s going to remind audiences that there’s no substitute for the theatrical experience,” said Paul Glantz, in an exclusive sit-down discussion with Saline Journal at Emagine Royal Oak, prior to premier of this motion picture. [7]

“‘James Bond’ has been around long enough that almost everyone has seen a James Bond movie. I think your James Bond is the one (actor playing the role) that you remember growing up, the one you first saw — and that was in a movie theater. [8]

As Co-Founder and Chairman, Mr Glantz recalled that Emagine Entertainment launched against a well established structure for new film releases, along with rapidly changing technologies and distribution channels. Two years ago, he told Saline Journal described his philosophy of working “tirelessly to create a great out-of-home experience. [9-11]

While we have more indirect competitors than ever before in the history of the industry, guests will still come if they see a compelling value proposition in doing so.

He returned to this point when discussing No Time to Die.

“I don’t think people have forgotten what they have missed out on with the lock-downs,” he began. “But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t remind them. [12-16]

James Bond has all the right stuff for that. He’s out there and he goes places. His stories are big and spectacular and no in-home setup can convey that in a way that’s fully in line with what the movie-makers created when they filmed the stories. You can look at the popularity of our re-release movie screenings through Fathom Events for example. [17]

I think people still like to get away and be pampered a bit. I think you want to feel some of the comfort and service of the cinema experience as you escape into the luxury James Bond experience on the screen. [18]

No Time to Die had its world premier in London last week, and critic reviews have been solidly positive. Today, audiences here in the United States will get to render their own opinions. [19-22]
