Schedule has been set for individuals interested in riding along on flights aboard one or more of the functional historic aircraft in the Yankee Air Museum fleet. [1]
Current list of options for these “Air Adventures” includes the following. [2,3]
- Bell UH-1 Iroquois, generically nicknamed “Huey,” labeled “Greyhound” here — with flights starting May 1, 2021 [4]
- Boeing Aircraft Company B-17 Flying Fortress, “a US heavy bomber used during World War II,” known today under the name “Yankee Lady” — with flights starting May 15, 2021 [5]
- Douglas C-47 Skytrain, “a military transport aircraft developed from the civilian Douglas DC-3 airliner, dubbed “Hairless Joe” — with flights starting May 1, 2021 [6,7]
- North American B-25 Mitchel, with new “Rosie’s Reply” markings, at one time known as “the most heavily armed airplane in the world — with flights starting May 16, 2021 [8]
