“Air Adventures” set to resume for 2021 flight season, with options to book on Yankee Air Museum planes this Saturday

Schedule has been set for individuals interested in riding along on flights aboard one or more of the functional historic aircraft in the Yankee Air Museum fleet. [1]

Current list of options for these “Air Adventures” includes the following. [2,3]

  • Bell UH-1 Iroquois, generically nicknamed “Huey,” labeled “Greyhound” here — with flights starting May 1, 2021 [4]
  • Boeing Aircraft Company B-17 Flying Fortress, “a US heavy bomber used during World War II,” known today under the name “Yankee Lady” — with flights starting May 15, 2021 [5]
  • Douglas C-47 Skytrain, “a military transport aircraft developed from the civilian Douglas DC-3 airliner, dubbed “Hairless Joe” — with flights starting May 1, 2021 [6,7]
  • North American B-25 Mitchel, with new “Rosie’s Reply” markings, at one time known as “the most heavily armed airplane in the world — with flights starting May 16, 2021 [8]
