Gary Peters has won re-election to represent Michigan in the United States Senate.

“The race was called by the Associated Press at 9:15pm,” reported Malachi Barrett in a November 4, 2020 mLive article titled “Gary Peters wins reelection in Michigan US Senate race.”

The piece went on to note that “Peters won by 59,980 votes, ahead of Republican challenger John James[,] 49.6% to 48.5%.”

In a Tweet posted about two hours ago, Senator Peters wrote the following.

Michigan, thank you. It’s an honor to serve you for another six years in the US Senate.

To all who believed in us, gave your time and effort in our fight: thank you for putting your trust in me. I’m so grateful and energized to keep working to move our state forward.
