Democratic Presidential nominee Walter Mondale at 1984 University of Michigan

In Politics And Journalism, “History” Begins Where The Presenting Party Says It Does (If Audiences Allow That)

July 27, 2018
It seems that Michigan was an important state for the presidential campaign of 1984. Or at least it was for the Democratic Party, whose nominee Walter Mondale made an appearance on the University of Michigan campus. Saline Journal parent company D² Enterprises covered it for a news outlet in Detroit which subsequently distributed photographs provided to interested papers throughout the United States. [1] Back then, journalism wasn’t open to just anyone. The Saline Reporter wouldn’t ....

Thirty Years Ago, I Celebrated My Five-Year Anniversary As A Journalist – In Florida, Taking Photographs (As Usual)

August 6, 2018

August 12, 1983 was a Friday and we filed paperwork for “D² Enterprises” — better known locally as Saline Journal parent d2 Saline — with the office of the Washtenaw County Clerk. It was during the lunch hour. ....

Much, much longer. [9] As somewhat of an offset, Executive Order 2020-9 “does not restrict a place of business ....

Arizona Uber Incident Will Affect Local Autonomous Vehicle Industry

March 21, 2018
Last August, Domino’s Pizza deployed a Ford Fusion Hybrid on the streets of Ann Arbor in partnership with Ford Motor Company. It had the goal of “gauging customer reactions to self-driving delivery vehicles.” [1] Based on reports from subsequent appearance of that same car at the North American International Auto Show just two months ago, consumer reaction was one of “wariness.” [2] Elsewhere in the autonomous vehicle industry, the public was given reason for greater ....

Here’s Why Saline Was The Right Place At The Right Time For A Successful Dog Adoption Event At Bill Crispin Chevrolet

June 20, 2018
Businesses are asked to support causes every day and so many give generously with money, product donations, by providing space, and making employees available to volunteer. More touching still are those less common situations where the need served feels like it beats in the heart of the benefactor organization and its people. They give because they believe. This was particularly important for the “Pickups for Paws” dog adoption event held by Bill Crispin Chevrolet last ....
