It’s a well known annual happening if not tradition for most us who’ve been around for any length of time here in Saline Michigan.
“Drive One 4UR School” is a nationwide offering from Ford Motor Company aimed at providing a no cost, no pressure opportunity to take its latest vehicles out for a drive on the familiar roads of your local community. Just you and the car. Or truck. [1,2]
With additional friends or family members as well, if you’d like — depending upon the seating capacity of your choice ride.
Better still, while a lot of places will host Drive One 4 UR School events in 2019, the Briarwood Ford Drive One 4UR School event is the place to be. Among other (obvious) delights, this dealership has designated all associated funds donated from Ford Motor Company go to Saline Music Boosters. [3-5]
Need more reasons to check it out? Here’s our list.
- Get out on the road with what 2019 North American International Auto Show attendees could only dream about [6]
- Show even greater solidarity with those who still want to drive cars themselves! [7]
- Prove you can’t be tempted to switch brands [8]
- Try something you might not have otherwise considered — no credit check required
- Drop a hint with the spouse who can’t seem to get the benefits of a new car: “I was actually thinking you would get behind the wheel”
- Talk candidly with other visitors near the queuing area about their experiences as consumers with Ford products
- Safely pose and have friends take images of you for posting to social media
- Prepare to be amazed at just how different it is to experience a vehicle in the real world, as opposed to what you’ve been told about virtual comparisons being “just as good” on the Internet
Briarwood Ford General Manager Steve Whitener has asked Saline Journal to tell readers that it’s not possible to guarantee that every desired model will be available at the event, due to inventory rotations and sales. “But we always have a wide variety.”
Take another look at the list above and you’ll see only eight of the ten compelling reasons called for in our headline; that’s because two have been left for individual readers’ choice. Feel free to make your own additions or use one (or more) of ours. Then mark your calendar for Saturday, May 11. Show up any time between 9:00am and 5:00pm at Harvest Elementary School, and indulge.
