As part of the Fathom Events initiative, the original 1978 movie Grease will be shown by limited return engagement at Emagine Theatre in Saline. [1,2,3]

  • April 8 (Sunday), with shows starting at 2:00pm and 7:00pm
  • April 11 (Wednesday), with shows starting at 2:00pm and 7:00pm
  • April 14 (Saturday), with show at 2:00pm

Plot summary on IMDb: “Good girl Sandy and greaser Danny fell in love over the summer. When they unexpectedly discover they’re now in the same high school, will they be able to rekindle their romance?” [4]

In preparation for this 40th Anniversary event, you could begin by brushing up with the 1998 review by Roger Ebert for the 20th. For a look back from a more contemporary perspective, there’s “How Grease Beat the Odds and Became the Biggest Movie Musical of the 20th Century” from Vanity Fair in 2016. [5,6]

The Fathom Events site also implies that dressing in period costume is not just allowed, but encouraged. Wouldn’t that be something to see for Saline spirit?

As always, before finalizing plans, check the Emagine Entertainent website to verify show dates and times.
