Radio station 1600 WAAM was broadcasting earlier today from Saline to raise visibility for its nineth annual “1600 Toys for 1600 Girls and Boys” Christmas gift collection. [1]
The effort is undertaken in cooperation with The Salvation Army. [2]
Michigan State Police officers were also here to help today outside our local Walmart. In the photograph above, Trooper Donald Pasternak of Brighton Post 12 can be seen showing vehicle controls to one very excited child who got to sit behind the wheel. [3]
If you’re able to help out, the request is for donation of new, unwrapped toys, games, CDs, DVDs, sports equipment, jewelry, and even makeup.
In Saline, these gifts can be dropped off at Singleton Family Dentistry and Walmart. [4,5]
Thank you!
