In mid-August of 1985, the Goodyear Blimp Enterprise, N1A routinely flew over various parts of Saline while moored at the Ann Arbor Airport. It’s shown here over the Washtenaw Farm Council fairgrounds in Lodi Township, near Travis Pointe County Club. [1]

This airship was here to provide aerial coverage of The Buick Open. Ken Green won this PGA Tour golf tournament that year.

Enterprise was among first of the “Modern Era” Goodyear airship design, introduced in 1969. Based out of Pompano Beach, Florida, this particular blimp was in service from 1979 to 1991. [1]

Long-time Saline residents may recall having seen this class of Goodyear Blimp flying over the area for University of Michigan football games as well. Sister ships to Enterprise included Columbia and Mayflower.
